I'm making Chaotic Claws from RuneScape™ and this is a great inspiration. Thank you for sharing with the community.

I'm curious as to how you finished these. Sealed with Mod Podge, painted black, and hit with Rub-n-Buff?  Or a different method? I'd like to try making some Sauron gauntlets, and this is giving me some great ideas.

Sorry for the delay in replying!
It's all just sealed with mod podge :) I'd recommend it, but I would definitely give it a couple of coats of it- after wearing it for a full day at a convention, paint had started to show wear around the edges of the fingers and especially on the leg armour.
Best of luck with the gauntlets!

Very cool! Craft foam you say? How'd you make it look like aged metal? Looks great

Yep, tis all made from craft foam! Basically, I just painted it with different layers instead of using one block colour.

I was thinking of making a femhawke mage costume too, but I wanted to make it out of metal, lucky for me the college in my town does a metalwork course for a reasonable price.

It looks very nice for your first try. I'm actually trying to start making my own armor (gonna take a shot at the F!Hawke mage champion armor) as well and I was wondering how did you put the craft foam all together like that and on the glove? Any tips or advice you have to a fellow beginner would b e welcome.

Ok so each set of three pieces are glued together and then attached to the glove? Is movement with them glued like that all right?

I glued each piece onto the glove first to mimic the movement of the joints in our fingers. Movement was pretty good considering but of course just picking things up was kinda tricky =P

thankies ^_^

it's just painted with reeves fine acrylic colours which can basically be used on any surface :) mainly i painted the surface with silver and then just added layers of paint (black, brown etc) to it and used kitchen roll to wipe some of it away to try and give it a metally feel. it's a bit of a pooey description but hope it helped >_<

This looks great so far! And what makes it even better is that you're going to the London Expo in October! I'm hopefully planning a Fenris costume, and was unsure if I'd see any other Dragon Age cosplayers! Glad I won't be the only one! :meow:

Ohhh I'll be going to London expo this October too (I'll look at for you :P) I still dunno who to goes as (tempted to go as Nel from Bleach, but I fear I may freeze to death) anyway those gaunlets are amazing! They are the main thing putting me off doing a Fenris cosplay...What materials did you use?

yaya cool! we should meet up! The more the merrier! :D

ooh nice, you could style it as winter Nel with a big fluffy coat xD (i kid =P)

aw thank you so much! Well i think the hardest/trickiest thing about the gauntlet was getting all of the finger pieces to the right size but other than that it was not too bad (considering this is my first cosplay xD)

ooooh FENRIS!! :iconbigyayplz:
the whole thing (apart from the glove itself) is made out of craft foam :)

Wow that's your cosplay? Impressive, I went as Rukia from Bleac as my first didn't really put that much time or effort into it which is why I wanted to try something harder.

Did you use a gluegun to put them together? (I keep telling myself I'll get one next time I find one >.<)

Yeah it's the beginnings of my cosplay ^_^ !

ooh nice :) it's always good to challenge yourself, the rewards seem greater at the end :)

yeahh i used a glue gun to glue everything so far; they're not that expensive to buy, i think mine was under 10 :)

good luck in your hunt for finding one :D

Looking good, trust me I know how much of a process this can be!
The only thing is have you made the forearm bracer for the gauntlet go the whole way around the arm or part way? It's only supposed to go half way :)

You might also want to use less glue lines on the forearm or it starts to look a little tacky :)

hope this helps!

Thanks! it means a lot coming from someone who has already made an absolutely awesome Hawke!
Initially i made it half-way but decided to add another section underneath just because the side parts decided they didn't wanna stay glued down xD

thanks it'll be a great help! :D

Oh thank you! It took a lot of work believe me.
If it helps further, mine was half sized but stayed in place using belts and buckles like the design and it actually worked! What are you making it from, using the foam technique I gather? :)
And hey, if you have any questions or want to run something by me feel free to send me a message, i'm willing to share how I made mine ^^
